About the Role
In this role, you’ll provide holistic, patient-focused care and ensure the smooth admission, monitoring, and recovery of patients undergoing same-day procedures. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver timely and evidence-based care that complies with regulatory and clinical standards.
Your responsibilities include:
- Admitting patients and preparing them for surgical procedures
- Delivering post-operative support and recovery care
- Communicating effectively with medical teams and patients
- Supervising graduates, students, and junior nurses where relevant
- Supporting patients with pre- and post-surgery education
- Maintaining clinical documentation, hygiene, and compliance standards

What We’re Looking For
To succeed as an Enrolled Nurse – Day Surgery Unit in Brisbane QLD, you’ll need current AHPRA registration and a minimum of two years’ clinical experience in a surgical, acute, or day procedure setting.
Selection criteria includes:
- Recent, relevant experience in nursing care within surgical or day surgery environments
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a busy team-based environment
- Proficiency in time management, delegation, and critical thinking
- A commitment to professional development and continuous learning
- Confidence in escalating issues and seeking support when required
