Role Overview
In this role, you will support the Head of Regulatory Affairs in overseeing and guiding the company’s response to regulators and ensuring compliance across multiple service lines. You will contribute directly to the development and implementation of strategic regulatory engagement and influence the outcomes of complex regulatory matters.
The position demands a proactive approach to compliance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage regulatory relationships at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Regulatory Support: Lead and contribute to the creation and delivery of a cohesive regulatory strategy across all service lines.
- Regulator Engagement: Ensure timely and comprehensive responses to requests from regulators and develop clear, consistent communication strategies.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams such as Strategy, Government Relations, Risk and Compliance to implement cohesive compliance processes.
- Reputation Protection: Represent the company effectively in high-pressure situations and ensure public and stakeholder messaging aligns with the company’s brand and values.
- Process Improvement: Design and implement workflows to track regulatory engagements and generate detailed reports for senior stakeholders.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Work alongside Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure that all regulatory matters are handled consistently.
- Risk Awareness: Maintain a deep understanding of regulatory risks tied to ongoing business initiatives and provide actionable advice to executive leadership.
- Negotiation & Influence: Handle sensitive consultations with external regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders to drive favourable outcomes.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to demonstrate:
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory affairs within the insurance or financial services industry, especially in the NSW market.
- A proven track record managing regulatory relationships and balancing commercial goals with strict compliance requirements.
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders, manage negotiations, and respond strategically to regulatory issues.
- Experience in insurance claims management and an understanding of workers’ compensation processes.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
